Come Out! is an improvisation collective started by Andrew Waggoner at the height of Covid in 2020. Comprising Waggoner on violin & hammered dulcimer; Jesse Mills on violin; Dan Lippel on guitars; Caroline Stinson on cello; and Aidan Plank on doublebass, the group gives entire concerts of free improvisation. Acting as a 5-headed composer in real time, Come Out! creates pieces in whatever style presents itself in the moment, sliding easily between “classical” and jazz-based approaches, in a kaleidoscopic array of instrumental colors and rhythmic feels. Passionate as much about teaching as about improvising, every member of the group has a long history bringing everyone, regardless of background, into their birthright as improvising musicians.
